Wii Motion Plus may not even need Wii Sports Resort for success
BY Jason Townsend-Rogers Jul. 19th, 2009 More on:

Nintendo sure knows how to move hardware…even if the software supporting it is not all there.

According to this report, Nintendo’s MotionPlus has sold nearly 500,000 units since its release; specifically, the individual unit sold 169,000 units, while one of the early games to support it, Tiger Woods PGA Tour ‘10, has sold 441,000 units.

Keep in mind that Tiger Woods’ latest round of golf includes Wii MotionPlus in the box, thus one could argue that the “Wii Play” strategy is at work here. Either way, maybe this indicates that the public is willing to give Nintendo’s latest a chance…even though Nintendo’s own software has yet to see release.
