What started off as a cute little project from the Drawn to Life guys has turned into perhaps the most anticipated title of the year. When we first saw Scribblenauts, we figured they didn’t really mean you could create anything in the game world. Surely there were some limits. I mean, they would definitely make sure you wouldn’t give an old near-sighted man a sniper rifle, right? And thermal goggles are just for Splinter Cell and Metal Gear Solid. No need for those here. There are over 200 levels in the game, but who would waste their time writing code that would allow the player to summon Medusa, decapitate her with a sword, and use her head to turn a centaur to stone?
No, that’s just crazy. Never going to happen.
Perhaps even crazier than the official advertising trailers are the first hand accounts that people have had with the game at E3. There’s no doubt that Scribblenauts is going to be huge. The only question is how long the experience is going to stay fresh after all this hype. Does this game have enough legs to win game of the year? To be the best portable game ever? We’ll find out later this year.
