Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 dated for September

Like peanut butter and chocolate, ninjas and bewbies are a perfect combination. A no-brainer combo that will soon be available to PS3 owners this fall, as Tecmo has announced that Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 will come to North America on September 29, followed by Japan and Europe. In addition to the new “Team Missions” online co-op mode, which we detailed last week, Sigma 2 will also offer new playable characters such as Rachel from the original Ninja Gaiden, Ayane from the Dead or Alive series, and Momiji from Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword. No doubt the eye candy is there to give us all the more reason not to throw our controllers at our TV screens when we die for the umpteenth time.

And per usual, GameStop’s providing exclusive goodies for those of us who want a little something extra. Pre-ordering will net gamers an exclusive downloadable costume, while the Collector’s Edition will include an 80-page book containing a prologue comic book from Team Ninja, a mini-strategy guide, and concept art from the game. Of course, none of this will matter much if the game itself turns out to be crummy. But with Yosuke Hayashi now at the helm of Team Ninja, here’s to hoping Sigma 2 will be the breast, er, best in the series when it comes out.
