During their Q1 earnings call today, THQ’s President and CEO Brian Farrell said Volition’s destroy-everything shooter Red Faction Guerrilla has recruited over one million freedom fighters (aka copies sold) since the rebellion started (aka the game’s release) this June.
Farrell also made it fairly clear that there may be a sequel coming by saying they need to do a better job creating launch demand for “the next iteration” and that with Guerrilla they “established a foundation from which to expand this franchise.”
But that doesn’t mean they’ll drop support for Guerrilla, quite the opposite in fact. According to Farrel, THQ is planning to keep pushing the title “with continued advertising support and new downloadable content,” which he feels is important along with word of mouth.
Red Faction: Guerrilla currently holds a 85 Metacritic average which THQ is happy with. Check out our own review here.
