Internet likes SOCOM over Killzone 2

Who knew that a game that had a not so good launch and holds a Metacritic average of 63/100 has more online players than the highly praised fan and critic favorite Killzone 2? But that’s exactly how things are according to SCEA senior producer Mark Rogers who says SOCOM Confrontation has more active online players than Killzone 2 or Resistance 2, the other big PS3 shooter, for that matter.

Rogers attributes the game’s success to a committed community which will soon be rewarded with a big game-improving patch that is currently undergoing an extended testing cycle due to its large scale and scope. New downloadable content is also expected later this summer which will bring new maps, weapons, a game mode etc.
