While I admit to not relying on Yahoo Games to obtain news about the videogame industry, I appreciated the effort that the company put out in order to inform the public about the industry. The effort achieved a modicum of success, as its 19.2 million unique visitors can attest.
Sadly, this may all be for naught, if this report by Gamepolitics proves true.
The article suggests that IGN or Best Buy could see fit to acquire this property; however, considering that Microsoft and Yahoo are working out merging details, one stands to believe that MSN’s Games Division and Yahoo’s Games Division could soon become one. After all, they are already merging their search engines together, why not their videogame departments?
