Following an Amazon.com December 29th release date posting and GTPlanet’s claim that Grand Turismo 5 will release in 2009, Sony has said that these estimates are just “rumor and speculation”. When contacted by CVG, Sony commented on the rumor, saying, “We haven’t announced a release date for GT5 yet.”

As of now the only clues we can rely on is Amazon.com’s, and the late Novemberish date we’ve dug up, which if Sony were to comment on would in all likelyhood get the same response. However, there is a high likelihood that Sony’s August 18th press conference at GamesCom in Germany will clear things up.
