Nintendo downloads for the week of August 3

Nintendo’s Virtual Console got screwed over the past couple weeks, but this week may make up for the continued mistreatment. Not only is the VC getting some love, but WiiWare and DSiWare as showing up to play as summer starts to wind down. WiiWare is hitting us with OVERTURN (Studio Zan Inc., Players: 1-4, E10 – Fantasy Violence, 800 Wii Points) and Sexy Poker (Gameloft, Players: 1, M – Simulated Gambling, Suggestive Themes, 500 Wii Points). The Virtual Console is redeem itself by giving us Tecmo Bowl (Tecmo, Players: 1-4, E, 600 Wii Points), while DSiWare sends us to the precipice (Nintendo, Players: 1, E – Comic Mischief, 500 Nintendo DSi Points).

The classic Tecmo Bowl is just that, the game we know and love. Doubt they will have the superhuman Bo Jackson running rampant, but we are going to try just to be safe. Overturn is a mech-like game and Sexy Poker is self explanatory. The most interesting sounding release this week is precipice which pits our character against falling blocks set on crushing us for what we can only guess is a misplaced sense of revenge.

Football, sexy ladies, poker, and falling blocks all in one week? Decisions must be made.
