Capcom teases new ‘mindblowing’ game sequel
BY Joshua Kopstein Aug. 5th, 2009 More on:

Once again, Capcom is smugly ringing their Pavlovian bells for all the Internet to hear by hinting on  Twitter that they are meeting to discuss a project for a new game sequel. No specifics have been revealed yet, and Capcom seems awfully content with their carrot-dangling, stating that the game “will BLOW YOUR MIND when you find out about it… much, much later.”

What could it be? Is this perhaps the beginnings of the much-speculated Marvel vs Capcom 3? With the announcement of Tatsunoko VS Capcom’s North American release as well as the recent re-release of MvC2 on XBLA/PSN, Capcom seems to be batting a thousand lately when it comes to giving fans what they want. For now, it seems like we’ll just have to be well trained monkeys and wait for further information. As exciting as the prospect of MvC3 sounds, I’m personally holding out for a new Okami. Or maybe a Strider or Final Fight sequel? With a such huge library of classics to choose from, I don’t anticipate being disappointed by whatever they choose to announce. Go ahead, Capcom: Blow my mind.

Oh please, please, please….FINAL FIGHT 2!! For the love of everything holy, I need that. I want to punch Poison in the face from home instead of at the arcade downtown. It takes too long to get there.

It’s really frustrating when a game which is in such high demand (MvC3), and destined to make bajillions of dollars, is cut short due to lame-ass licensing politics. Someone should just slap them out of their pissing contest and divert their attention to the hundreds of thousands of gamers chomping at the bit to fork over cash. The math isn’t that hard.
