Over 500,000 sales land onto Wii Sports Resort
BY Jonathan Redaja Aug. 6th, 2009 More on:

Since its release to American shores July 26th, Nintendo’s Wii Sports Resort has sold over 500,000 units through August 3rd. Pretty good, selling well just like in Japan the first four days it came out. The game itself comes with Wii MotionPlus accessory, which lets the game more accurately track movements, like swinging swords, archery, or dogfighting.

“Through Monday we sold one copy of Wii Sports Resort roughly every 1.5 seconds continuously since it launched in the United States,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales and Marketing. Although I get her statement, I can’t help but imagine taking it literally and seeing a few people handling and completing each purchase at 1.5 seconds…

We have impressions on some of the mini-games you’ll play here, from E3. Just like how Wii Sports took everyone’s time back then, I have a feeling this one will do the same.
