We firmly believe that there aren’t nearly enough wild west shooters out there. Sure, Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood just arrived and Red Dead Redemption is on the way, but that’s just two cowboys among thousands of clunky space marines. Which makes the news that developer Fatshark is bringing out a new shooter based in the era oh-so-welcome.
Lead and Gold: Gangs of the Wild West is the name of the game that will allow us to wield our trust six shooters once more, though from a third-person perspective this time, and even though no specific platforms the game will appear on have been announced, the devs did deem it fitting to mention that it’s being developed with PC and console platforms in mind, as a download-only title.
Lead and Gold will offer a strong multiplayer focus along with AI opponents that can be played against alone or cooperatively, aaaaand that’s pretty much all that’s known at the moment. The game seems to be class-based like Team Fortress 2, and judging from the trailer below, it has a bit of that TF2 vibe going on beyond that. But if they pull off a great title, that’s not necessarily a bad thing at all.
