Updated / Doom 2 headed to Live Arcade
BY Rain Anderson Aug. 13th, 2009 More on:

Update: The game’s been officially announced at id’s QuakeCon press conference now. The port is being handled by Nerve Software, though the release date remains a mystery.

Original story: QuakeCon 2009 has kicked off and excited id Software fans are poking around all over the place. One of the first interesting things found were demo booths of an Xbox Live Arcade version of Doom 2. There hasn’t been an official announcement yet, but it’s safe to say one isn’t too far off.

The first game in id’s classic shooter series was released on XBLA as a surprise on the day of its announcement at Microsoft’s X06 event in September of 2006. Gotta say it’s about time we get the sequel.
