Microsoft isn’t worried about a PS3 price cut |

Unless you live on Mars, you know that the PS3 slim is possibly coming. And it could be very soon. On top of that, with Sony’s strong holiday line-up consisting of big names like Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack In Time, you’d think Microsoft might start feeling the pressure a little. Apparently not. With a rumoured price drop of their own coming, Xbox executive Chris Lewis is fairly confident that the 360 is on stable ground right now.
“We are in a good place in terms of the value we offer. We have a plan and a rhythm we are marching to – and we won’t be knocked off that cadence in terms of what the opposition might do.” Sounds like all’s well at Xbox camp then. The battle of the price drop is going to make next week’s GamesCom quite a show it seems.

Haha. Yes, we believe them just as they prepare……a 360 price cut.
All MS do is watch the competition and either copy, ridicule or follow/ry to gazump. Shame they took their eyes off their forthcoming exclusive games programme………

All fanboyism aside (really, cortez?), this statement isn’t surprising. Would you expect them to admit apprehension if they were nervous? What kind of PR move would that be?

Ahaha… should have seen this coming. But it seems like the PS3 sales are still doing badly compared to the 360’s.
Microsoft is a thorough competitor indeed. Too bad the PS3 didn’t focus on what the PS2 did.
A solid concentration for (quality) games and a wide library of such.

JMA, no, I’d expect them not to bother commenting or do so without having a childish dig which every man and his dog can see through as “protesting too much”. I remember the days when Greenberg said that console gaming avatars, non-gaming console functionality and motion control were stupid gimmicks - and they weren’t about the gimmicks. Now what do we have? 360 support for selected websites that PS3 owners have had since launch, movies (I thought it was a gaming system?), cartoon avatars (hello Wii/PS3) with clothing and accessories to buy (hello Home), and motion control on the way. So much for ignoring the competition eh?
N?Rén Gamer, what do you mean “still”? Has the price cut happened yet? Is the slim out yet? XBoxers forget that before the MS price cuts the PS3 was reeling the 360 in at a alarming (for MS) rate, which is why the price drops happened in the first place.
