ArmA II expansion will send you to Takistan
BY Aaron Yorke Aug. 15th, 2009 More on:

Just two months after the release of its hyper-realistic open world shooter ArmA II, developer Bohemia Interactive is already planning an expansion pack. Called Operation Arrowhead, the expansion is an whole new adventure that takes place three years after the events of ArmA II. Rather than send players back to the fictional former Soviet nation of Chernarus, Bohemia has invented another country for virtual warriors to romp around in: the hilly central Asian nation of Takistan.

ArmA II was popularized by its realistic presentation of war and the ability of the player to choose precisely how they wanted to take on an objective. Bohemia CEO Marek Spanel has promised the return of these elements has well as improvements on the original game. Unfortunately, Spanel is not very specific when he says that Bohemia wants to “improve numerous areas of the core game, for both the original game and the expansion, where we can go even further with adding completely new features.”

Once we learn what these new features actually are, TVGB will be sure to let you know. Until then, you can check out Operation Arrowhead on display at GamesCom in Cologne, Germany starting on August 19.
