Former Lucasarts president is trading lightsabers for political papers |

Jim Ward, who served as LucasArts’ president from 2004 to 2008, is hoping that his managerial experience in the games arena can translate to the equally-cutthroat world of politics.
Ward has expressed interest in running to represent Arizona’s 5th Congressional District in the 2010 Congressional elections. A successful campaign would allow him to rub shoulders with other members of Congress, including Arizona’s own senator, John McCain.
Ward, like McCain, has some fairly conservative viewpoints, if his web site is any indication. It remains to be seen if he will be successful however; considering that this political climate has been rough for any individual who happens to have an ‘R’ as his or her political designation.

His views may be “fairly conservative” if you are a liberal, but his very vague positions he outlines on his website are fairly moderate.
And on that comment about the current political climate, you must have been living in a hole for the last month. Both political parties are intensely disliked at the moment and democrats are polling on par with republicans.

I agree, both parties are not especially popular at this moment. Though it remains so that the Democratic party is enjoying a bit more popularity at the moment compared to the Republican party. Of course, in terms of which party people would prefer, it is akin to asking if you want plastic surgery or a root canal. Both are disliked options….yet some prefer one over the other.
