Alan Wake ready, just missing polish
BY Eric Wigdahl Aug. 17th, 2009 More on:

Just about everyone has gotten excited about the long-expected Alan Wake, especially since the announcement of its release at E3 this past June. As it turns out Mr. Wake, protagonist and mystery author, is just working on his final draft.

According to Joystiq, Remedy managing director Matias Myllyrinne had a little bit to say about progress on the upcoming title after a GDC Europe presentation. The good news is that “It’s all done, we’re just polishing at this point,” Myllyrinne said. While this isn’t a remarkably surprising comment, it is quite reassuring. Alan Wake has been in production since 2005 and expectations are super high. So it should be comforting that with about half a year until it hits stores, the game is only going to get better.

6 months of nothing but polish? Man, they’re gonna take a lot of crap should the game isn’t technically perfect.

I hope they fix the facial animations myself, they just don’t seem right and ruin the human element of the game for me totally.
