People are eagerly anticipating the release of developer Double Fine’s Brütal Legend. But realizing that the game’s fans may need something to tide them over for the next two months, EA has announced that a demo will be available for download in September on both Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. Players will get an early chance to wear the shoes and hair of the Jack Black-voiced protagonist Eddie Riggs as he battles evil with his feisty sidekick Ophelia and see how the game’s combo system fares when pulling off various double team attacks and how “The Deuce” handles, which is Eddie’s upgradable vehicle of rawk.
So what exactly convinced EA and Double Fine to thumbs-up the demo? “We just couldn’t wait,” said Tim Schafer, President of Double Fine Productions. “Villagers have surrounded our offices with torches, demanding the game. So we’re releasing a demo and hope that this taste of metal will keep the mob at bay until Brütal Legend comes out this Rocktober.” Ah, good ole fear and anger never lets us down!
