Dante’s Inferno unleashed February 2010
BY Raphael Cua Aug. 18th, 2009 More on:

Visceral Games announced a final release date for Dante’s Inferno at the EA press conference at Gamescom. The action adventure game that oh-so-faithfully recreates events in Dante Alighieri’s The Divine Comedy will be available in the US on Feb. 9 2010 and Feb. 12 2010 in Europe.

Executive producer Jonathan Knight is excited to “interpret” Dante’s epic poem. “Our team is dedicated to delivering a stunning and highly polished interpretation of this classic to a new medium for a new generation everywhere this February.” And by “highly polished interpretation,” he means a watered-down translation that turns the classic literary work into conventional videogame fare where Dante channels his inner Kratos and fights all the demons in hell to save the soul of his beloved Beatrice.

Visceral Games’ Dante’s Inferno will be responsible for failing grades for lazy students in World Literature classes in February. Welcome to the new generation of Cliff’s Notes.
