Battlefield 1943 captures over a million copies
BY Jonathan Redaja Aug. 19th, 2009 More on:

Battlefield 1943 never struck me as a game that would sell incredibly well. From my impression, it seemed like a graphical update to 1942, including using some of the same maps during its launch. I thought it would get some decent sales, a consistent user-base, a high kill count, but that was about it.

Man, how wrong I was. During EA’s CamesCom press conference, the Battlefield team announced they have sold over 1 million digital copies since its launch on July 10th. Breaking 1 million in sales is always a feat, even when factoring in the relatively cheap price for it. With the game industry facing economic difficulties, it feels a little better knowing some developers are making it out there.
