Riding shotgun to Sony’s announcement of the PS3 Slim is the PSP’s Digital Reader, which will let users purchase, download and read comics and graphic novels, either page by page or frame by frame, on the handheld.
When the service launches in December, it will feature hundreds of titles from current partner Marvel, who have been offering their comics in digital format for a while now, with plans to announce a wider range of “titles from indie and local publishers” at a later date. Sony also hinted that the application could be used for more than just comics, allowing newspapers, magazines and even full books to find their way onto the service in the future. But for now it’s tights-only fare.

i remember reading comics on my old PSP via some popular homebrew. the idea was great but not very practical because the screen wasn’t big enough to capture all the visual spectacle.
still, if the price is right this coud be a big hit.
