Developer Naughty Dog hopes to have struck the perfect balance between adrenaline-fueled and academia-inspired gameplay in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, which breaks down 40 percent puzzles and 60 percent action according to Kotaku.
“We really tried to fit the length of the puzzle with the pacing of the story,” said Naughty Dog spokesman Arne Meyer, adding that the puzzle and platforming sections have just as meticulously paced as the action sequences, making for a gaming experience that remains tense throughout. “I think gamers are going to notice that it’s going to be a little more action packed. There’s a little more tension, a little more action behind everything (Nathan Drake) does.”
My only complaint about Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, if it even is a complaint, is that the later half abandoned the environmental puzzles and platforming in favor of action. Granted, it was balls to the wall mutated Nazi monster action, but I’m still thrilled to hear the sequel will be striking a more seamless balance.
