Bungie unsure about their Halo future |

Despite once saying that next year’s mysterious Halo: Reach would probably be their final Halo title, some of the team at Bungie Studios now seems less certain. “We just don’t know at this point,” said Brian Jarrard, Community and PR Director at the Washington-based game studio. “I’m not really able to speculate on what we’re going to do after Reach.”
Since the release of Halo: Combat Evolved in 2001, Bungie hasn’t internally developed anything outside of the Halo universe. While several projects have been hinted at (most notably the ill-fated RTS Phoenix), no new IPs have been detailed aside from a few vague publisher deals and hopeful speculation.
Jarrard further stated that Bungie will keep “making the games we want to make. Maybe that’s Halo. Maybe it’s not.” While I may not speak for the majority of Xbox owners, I personally would love to see what else Bungie can come up with. Hell, I’m still waiting for the flaming helicopter ninjas to pop up.

given how underwhelming halo 3 turned out (the campaign, that is) i wouldn’t mind seeing another team take a crack at continuing the franchise.

I actually liked the Halo 3 campaign. Thought it was the best of the 3. If anything, the original Halo’s campaign was the poorest and most plainly designed of the trilogy.
