Jade Raymond to head up Ubisoft Toronto
BY Sebastian Nordlund Aug. 31st, 2009 More on:

Our favorite female personality in the gaming industry, Jade Raymond, is back on the grid. The Assassin’s Creed producer and currently executive producer for Assassin’s Creed II, Raymond has been appointed to head up the newly announced studio in Toronto, Ontario by Ubisoft. She’ll be working under the management of Ubisoft Toronto and Montreal CEO Yannis Mallat who’s excited about having Raymond overseeing the operations in Toronto and said that “with more than 12 years of experience in the video game industry, Jade’s knowledge and leadership as an industry veteran are major assets in building the Toronto studio and expanding Ubisoft’s presence in Canada.”

“I’m honored to be a part of Ubisoft’s expansion into Toronto,” said Raymond. “I’m looking forward to building a strong and talented team to work on triple-A games and new intellectual properties.” Whatever the future holds for Raymond and the studio, that last part mentioning AAA games and new IPs has already gotten her off to a good start, since those are becoming a rare breed in this world of sequels.
