Valve has been rolling out the new stuff in Left 4 Dead 2 in segments, revealing a new campaign and a new boss monster at major conventions. They gave samples at E3 then Comic-Con and now they’re continuing this scheme at PAX. We have 4 new screens in the gallery from the new chapter, Dark Carnival, including the charming movie poster with tagline and the new boss, The Jockey (above).
The Jockey’s favorite method of tormenting the survivors is to jump on their back and make them lose control, driving them into any possible nearby danger such as a crowd of lesser zombies or something on fire. As if we needed any help finding trouble to leap into in this game, now we might be forced to give piggyback rides to the undead. Aren’t carnivals wonderful?
Everyone who isn’t in Seattle will just have to wait to ride the Tilt-a-Whirl-o-Death until November 17th when Left 4 Dead 2 comes to 360 and PC.

I demoed Dark Carnival this morning at PAX, and I can speak to the Jockey’s horror. He devastates, because he runs you into feral hordes, and there is nothing you can do. And boy is that guy fast.

Thanks for the testimony, Jordan. Also, thanks for making us jealous.
