Uncharted 2 gets special edition, but only if you win it

Special editions are all the rage these days, and they seem to have reached their peak with Modern Warfare 2‘s Prestige Edition bundle which has caused controversy with its price and content. Therefore with the reveal of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Fortune Hunter Edition (and you thought Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time was a mouthful), fans of the franchise couldn’t be blamed for worrying they might be about to get ripped off. Well is actually quite the opposite; you can get the set for free… if you win it.

Strange it may be, but this edition of the game will not be for sale at retail, rather players can only win copies via the PlayStation Blog, Playstation Home, and the multiplayer demo starting September 15th, with more places to win to be announced.

So pretty sweet deal if you’re lucky enough to bag a copy, but what will you actually get for all the effort you put into getting it? Well first off is the pretty standard collector’s art book and game case, something you see in just about every SE. The most enticing part of the pack is easily the replica of Phurba Dagger Artifact, a key item in the game that was first seen in Drake’s hands in the reveal trailer.

Details on how to score yourself this set will be available soon, but with just about every PS3 owner on the planet counting down the days until Uncharted 2’s release, you can bet it won’t be easy.
