New details of the custom killstreaks in Modern Warfare 2 have popped up thanks to a new preview of the game in PSM3 Magazine.
Instead of just being rewarded with UAVs, airstrikes and choppers like in the first game, killstreaks will be customizable and players will be able to mix and match accordingly to how they play and what fits their skills. MW2 Community manager Robert Bowling told PSM3, “You can have a three killstreak or a fifteen killstreak if you want, or something like the AC-130 [firing down in black and white from an airborne gunship] is one of the highest killstreaks you can select.”
Seems like this new way of using killstreak rewards will benefit both new players, who can just use rewards for smaller killstreaks, and veterans, who would most likely wait to get higher killstreaks and a better reward for their hard work.
Modern Warfare 2 is just over two months away from being released. We’re still counting the days until Nov. 10, but I’m sure I’m not the only one.
