More swordfighting to all, says Red Steel creative director
BY Rain Anderson Sep. 8th, 2009 More on:

We’re sure once Microsoft and Sony launch their motion control solutions next year they’ll be accompanied by plenty of titles that will have the player imitating more sporting events than we knew existed. But perhaps we won’t have to wait too long for that elusive why-can’t-they-just-make-it-work sword fighting game to arrive. We probably wouldn’t, if Red Steel 2’s creative director Jason VandenBerghe’s dreams could suddenly start manifesting themselves.

“I personally would love to see any and all consoles have more sword fighting experiences,” VandenBerghe said at PAX last week. Could this mean that maybe, just maybe, the Red Steel franchise could be making the jump to more powerful consoles? Well, maybe. This, VandenBerghe says, is a call Ubisoft has to make.
