ZeniMax picks up Prey IP
BY Rain Anderson Sep. 8th, 2009 More on:

It appears that ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda and now id Software, has acquired one of the intellectual properties of 3D Realms and its parent company Apogee Software — Prey. According to trademarks filed by ZeniMax, the company now has the rights to use the Prey name in PC and console games, online games, downloadable content, television shows, comics, strategy guides etc.

Prey 2, the follow-up to the first game which released in 2006, was announced for PC and Xbox 360 in March of last year. How and if its development is affected as a result the new owner is unknown, and ZeniMax isn’t talking. Except for the usual “no comment,” that is.
