Update: Looks like there’s actually two lawsuits. The second one is about Interplay’s re-releases of Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics. Details here.
Original story: Aww, man! Why do lawsuits have to keep creepin’ into my videogame news? First you got Activision trying to sue everybody who’s ever tried to make sure BrĂ¼tal Legend actually gets made, then there’s that nonsense about Halo 3 being incompatible with the Xbox 360 despite the millions of people playing it daily, and now Bethesda wants to see Interplay in court because of slow development on their upcoming Fallout MMO. Well at least this last one kinda makes sense.
It appears that an agreement was made stating that Interplay would have development of Project V13 fully underway and with proper funding by April 4th. As in, five months ago April 4th. Interplay and partner Masthead Studios are fighting for their rights to work on the title, just as any sane party would do when a multi-million dollar franchise is on the line.
We’ll keep an eye on this one.

I hope this is solved quickly. I, like a lot of people, would love an MMO set in the Fallout universe.

I sort of doubt that.. the original lawsuit is still ongoing after years of waiting, if I’ve got my calendar-skills down.. and really, Interplay and Bethesda both are not known to back down in these sorta cases.
