It’s pretty apparent that Jimmy Fallon has a little bit of geekery running through his veins. From the Macbook he keeps on his interview desk to the videogame segments during his show, it’s pretty safe to say that the man loves his technology. I can’t help but applaud his honest attempt at breaking down the weird “no videogames” barrier that nighttime talk shows tend to have, by giving games and game developers the spotlight every now and then.
Earlier this summer, after an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Kotaku comprised a list of video game ideas they’d like to see make an appearance on his show. According to Late Night’s executive producer, item number one on that list will become a reality later this fall. Tim Schafer, Double Fine‘s head honcho and the brains behind Brütal Legend, will make an appearance on the October 2nd episode of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
With the mediocre sales success of Psychonauts looming in the background, Double Fine has been taking their Brütal Legend marketing campaign pretty seriously. A major network appearance couldn’t hurt the game’s publicity, and I can’t see Tim Schafer being a bad guest either. He’s super nice and genuinely funny, something gamers and non-gamers alike will be able to appreciate.
