The wonderfully titled Söldner-X: Himmelsstürmer was a PC side-scrolling shooter that found its way onto the PSN late last year. It didn’t exactly make the biggest splash on the gaming scene (maybe because it was so bloody hard), but positive critical reception was apparently enough to grant it a sequel in the form of Söldner-X 2: Final Prototype. The PC version is sitting it out this time around, making the game a PSN exclusive hitting this winter.
More shooty for shooty fans is all well and good, but what new features can one expect to entice them into buying the game? First off there are 7 totally new levels to blast through, with locals ranging from ice caves to space. Add to that new weapons, 1080p graphics, leaderboards, difficulty scaling, and it sounds like there’s plenty of reasons this title should get checked out when it flies onto the PlayStation Store later in the year.
