Left 4 Dead 2 banned in Australia

An indirect victory has been won by the boycotters of Valve’s Left 4 Dead 2. What better way to get people to boycott a game than to have it banned for an entire nation? Now we’re not suggesting that the boycott has anything to do with this, that would be absurd. However, Australia does have an increasingly strict policy when it comes to censorship in games and Left 4 Dead 2 is the latest casualty there.

The game failed to get rated when it went through the Australian Classifications Board and because it has no rating it has thus been banned from being sold in the Great Down Under. The main reasons the game failed the approval process are cited as “high impact violence” and “living humans with a rabies-like virus”. We hate to break it to you Australia, but zombies are zombies and should be greeted with a shotgun blast to the face, they’re not human and never will be again. You can’t rehabilitate the undead, you can cricket their noggin and step over the rotting body, stop being so nice!
