This year’s Summer of Arcade was another resounding success and broke almost every record in their book, Microsoft announced today. The program set a new monthly revenue record with an impressive 200% growth over last year, three of the top five highest opening week sales in Xbox LIVE Arcade’s history came from this year’s Summer of Arcade titles (Shadow Complex, Trials HD and Marvel vs. Capcom 2), and Shadow Complex and Trials HD pulled off the feat of becoming the most downloaded single-player games ever in their opening weeks.
In the press release announcing these results, Scott Austin, director of digitally distributed games on Xbox Live, took the chance to tout Microsoft as “the leader in digitally distributed games”.
There will be a Summer of Arcade 2010, oh yes.
