Battlefield Heroes recruits two million players

EA has announced today that its free-to-play online shooter, Battlefield Heroes, has now hit two million registered players, and to celebrate they have announced a new free update dubbed ‘Heroes of the Fall’.

The ‘Heroes of the Fall’ update will be released on September 30 and will include a brand new autumn-inspired map, which has yet to be named. That’s where the player comes into play. EA is now accepting proposed names submitted by players to the official website and the Battlefield Heroes dev team will then select a name from the list.

Along with the new map, the update will feature an upgraded gunner class, a new ranking system and improvements to the friends system. With two million registered players and counting, it sure seems gamers do love free games and they love free updates, too.

Look out for the ‘Heroes of the Fall’ update for Battlefield Heroes next Wednesday, September 30.
