Capcom’s producer Keiji Inafune has lost faith in Japan’s videogame industry, he declared at a Dead Rising 2 hands-on event at TGS.
After asking what the crowd thought of this year’s show and giving the “boo”’s a supportive thumbs down, he said, while sporting an exact replica of the leather jacket worn by Chuck Greene in Dead Rising 2 by the way, “Personally, when I looked around [at] all the different games at the TGS event floor, I said ‘Man, Japan is over. We’re done. Our game industry is finished.’”
Of course that doesn’t apply to Capcom’s own games. Theirs are still top notch, “kick ass” even.

yeah, it’s been dying for a while now. Western stuff is taking over. That’s what you get for making the same game 200 times over *cough*Dynasty Warriors*cough*

Well, that’s not 100 percent true…while the Japanese market dues suffer immensely from sequel-itis, so’s the US and Euro markets, not to mention it’s PC market is practically being bled dry by single monolithic MMO’s that all work the same way.
