The release of The Secret of Monkey Island has brought huge attention back both the Monkey Island series and LucasArts. The Monkey Island franchise has also proven itself a strong IP for developer Telltale but a modder has created something that should bring some awe to mind whether or not you’re a fan of franchise.
Modder Hannes Appell took the 2D art work and visuals of Monkey Island 2 and built it from the ground up in CryEngine 2 as a 3D landscape. Coupled with the appropriate music, Appell demonstrates goes a bit further in the video than simply showing you the environment. One of those things involves a poor frog and the Monkey Island sign.

Love people who make stuff like this. I hope LucasArs doesn’t lawyer up on this.
