The artwork above belongs to Dead Space Extraction, the Wii exclusive prequel to Dead Space that was released last year for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. If you take a good look at the image, specifically focusing on the Medical Bay to the left, you might be able to notice the shape of a human being through the door to the right. You see the person? That’s about as hard as you’ll have to look to find Dead Space Extraction in the latest UK charts released by Chart Track, as it merely made its debut at #16, which is far weaker than the debut Dead Space made.
Sadly enough, this proves yet again that a horror game has not but to face the harsh reality of being the outsider on a family-friendly console such as the Wii. However, it is not all lost, as Visceral Games - developer of the Dead Space franchise - has decided to host a live webcast for fans on September 29th, at 12 p.m. PST. That’s tomorrow. Gameplay of Dead Space Extraction will be demoed and fans will also be invited to participate in a Q&A session with the dev team. For further info, visit EA Underground.

To the game’s defence, it was out for just 3 days of last week. Hopefully, it’ll do better this week.

I am yet to sit down and immerse myself in the world of Dead Space, I’ve only tried it via friends and it is a horror game that deserves accolades. Hopefully, as you say, Extraction will climb the charts sooner rather than later.
