Square Enix president Yoichi Wada confirmed with Yahoo! Japan that the company is currently developing two or three major new franchises for release in the near future. Not resting on its laurels with Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts and Dragon Quest, Square Enix wants to start new big name franchises from which they can spawn countless spinoffs.
Wada didn’t drop any further details, though. He hopes to have these new titles released next year or 2011, which means 2012 or later in Square Enix Standard Time.
