Red Steel 2 is all about the controls

To those worried about Red Steel 2 going the way of its predecessor and delivering anything less than great Wii sword fighting game, Ubisoft has sent out a new developer diary focusing on the most important aspect of getting a game like that right — the controls. Lead game designer Roman Campos Oriola and creative director Jason Vandenberghe try to alleviate any fears we may have as they explain and show how making the controls feel just right is everything.

“Controls are the center of play and if you don’t get the controls right first, nothing you do after that matters,” Vandenberghe says. Fingers crossed they got it right then.

Red Steel 2 was one of those unfortunate ones to get pushed to 2010 a while ago, but it should arrive in the early part of the year.
