Activision trademarks Call of Duty film
BY Raphael Cua Oct. 5th, 2009 More on:

Not content with taking your money this holiday season when Modern Warfare 2 is released, Activision filed a trademark for a Call of Duty film hoping to take your money at the theaters. In late September, Activision filed a protective trademark on the Call of Duty name regarding “pre-recorded movies featuring comedy, drama, action, adventure, music, theatrical performances and/or animation.”

Activision already has a Warcraft film on the way and has shown interest in a Guitar Hero television series. With this filing, it looks like the Call of Duty series is the next Activision cash cow to invade other entertainment mediums. While the trademark doesn’t specify whether the possible film will be set in World War II or the Modern Warfare universe, the true question on everyone’s mind remains to be unanswered. Will the movie have Nazi zombies?
