Create your own Mario levels? Yes, please!
BY Rain Anderson Oct. 16th, 2009 More on:

Mario man Shigery Miyamoto is open to the idea of providing LittleBigPlanet-like tools which would allow players to create their own levels, he said during a recent New Super Mario Bros. Wii demo session. “This is an area that I have a lot of interest in,” he told Joystiq, “and I think that the side-scrolling Mario games in particular are well suited to that idea.”

Now that New Super Mario Bros. Wii has taken a new direction to offer a local multiplayer-focused experience, perhaps a community-driven Mario game could be next? “I think those types of interactive experiences are going to continue to broaden and we’ll see a lot more user-generated content going forward. I’ve always had an interest in those kinds of creative tools, so I will definitely be open to ideas like that in the future.”

I have ALWAYS wanted Mario Bros. User-Generated content ever since I was a youngster! I remember actually PRAYING oftentimes for new Mario Bros. games to get released, as I was RAVENOUS for Mario Bros. I always wished that somehow, I could make my own darned levels! I would play the TAR outta the levels that were provided by the game until I could have gotten sick of it. My largest fantasy about the Mario Bros. was that I could make my own levels.

Well, sounds like my biggest fantasy could come true! yaaaay!
