Capcom isn’t really known for making sure the movies based on their properties stay true to the source material *cough* Resident Evil *cough* so this bit of news shouldn’t hold much shock value — Lost Planet 2 producer Jun Takeuchi warns not to look for any familiar story lines in the upcoming Lost Planet movie. “[There] probably [won't be] so much of a reference to this particular title [Lost Planet 2],” he told G4 while noting that the people working on the movie do “love the world of Lost Planet” and knows they’re going to make use of the it, “but as far as the story line goes, the movie is completely different from the game.”

Takeuchi also mentioned that Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune, who was involved in both Lost Planet and its upcoming sequel, is collaborating with the people making the movie, though the level of his involvement in the project is unknown.
