God of War Collection trailer shows off remastered evisceration

While God of War Collection isn’t quite enough to ease the sting from God of War III missing another holiday season, it’s still is a nice gesture from Sony, and now we’ve got our first look at the compilation. The games have been upscaled (but not to full 1080p) with 2X¬†anti-aliasing thrown in for good measure, so these games are probably going to look as good as they are ever going to look. It’s difficult to really see how different the games look from their PS2 counterparts given the footage shown, but considering that I played both games in 480i on a old CRT, I’ll be interested to see how they look in HD.

Like Metroid Prime Trilogy, I’ll re-purchase these games because I love the series, and am extremely jealous of anyone picking up this set who has never played the games. Add to that trophy support and access to the God of War III demo (in the form of a voucher that you can cash in on the PSN, as it’s not on the disc), and this is shaping up to be a pretty good way to spend $40 this November.

Unless of course you live in Europe. If so, you have to wait until Spring of next year.
