Next Xbox Live update packs in tunes and news
BY Chris Barraclough Oct. 18th, 2009 More on:

We already know that next week’s Xbox Live update will provide Zune functionality (for all three owners of Microsoft’s portable music player), as well as Facebook and Twitter integration. Now Microsoft have revealed a couple more changes on top of that, which are welcome additions if not exactly prolapse-inducing.

Firstly, you get a brand new channel imaginatively titled ‘News and More’, which streams content from MSNBC.com, MSN Autos, The New Yorker and Dilbert for anyone too lazy to actually browse to those sites. Secondly, the Marketplace will be expanded with individual stores for existing music games such as Guitar Hero and Rock Band. Fans of those games can therefore download new tracks without even having to get off their couch and slip the disc in.

If only Microsoft could invent a way for our Xboxes to feed us beer and dispose of our waste, we’d never have to get off our asses ever again.
