Infinity Ward’s decision to ditch the use of dedicated servers and implement their own IWNet service with the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 has the community in arms. Shortly after the news broke a petition was started, a petition that at the time of writing has passed 30,000 signatures. The goal? To get Infinity Ward “to review their decision not to allow fully dedicated servers for their forthcoming game release CoD:MW2.”
Building an online service probably doesn’t come fast nor cheap these days, so Infinity Ward scrapping IWNet on the eve of launch seems highly unlikely. But 30,000+ signatures in ~24 hours does speak volumes of how much this means to the community.
“Remember that this Call of Duty was made popular by PC Gamers who have supported the series throughout,” the petition also reads.

And they ban people from there forums for no reason if the posts are negative towards these changes. Even removed entire threads, but was pressured into returning the threads.

I would rather see MW2 postponed for a year than to have them release crap like this.
