First Assassin’s Creed Lineage film coming this month
BY Sebastian Nordlund Oct. 19th, 2009 More on:

Despite its repetitive nature, the first Assassin’s Creed was something else, and you could tell right from the get-go that Ubisoft had big plans for the soon-to-be franchise. Fast-forward two years and here we are, at the verge of Assassin’s Creed II being released, and we get new details of Assassin’s Creed: Lineage, a Ubisoft’s Hybride Technologies (300 and Sin City) production of short movies that will depict the events leading up to the game’s commence.

Ubisoft today announced that YouTube will be allocating the first of three short films on October 27th. It’ll be on its homepage in eight countries throughout the world for a period of 24 hours. The short films revolve around Ezio’s father, Giovanni Auditore da Firenze, giving insight as to what the story behind Assassin’s Creed II is all about. The short films will also introduce both foes and friends of the family that we’ll get to meet in the game, like Lorenzo de Medici, the Italian statesman and de facto ruler of the Florentine Republic during the Italian Renaissance period.

Along with this attempt to expand on the Assassin’s Creed universe throughout different types of media and entertainment platforms, Ubisoft provided us with the trailer above, giving us a taste of what we might expect once October 27th hits us.

Assassin’s Creed II will be out on November 17th for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with the PC version coming 2010.

Looks boring to me. Bad actors, and just in general did not impress.

I’m not judging this until I’ve seen the short films, but based on this preview solely, I’ll admit that the Live Action trailer for Halo 3: ODST looked far superior.
