Sony’s research and development labs are at it again. Siliconera has reported that a new controller might be in the works for the electronics giant based upon a recent patent design application.

The new controller looks similar to other wand designs but with no substantial grip it seems like this would be a smashed TV set waiting to happen if it were designed for motion controls. My guess is that this is Sony’s response to Nintendo’s vitality sensor which was next on the list for Sony to “improvise”.
