Another Brothers In Arms “for sure,” modern times ahead?
BY Rain Anderson Oct. 22nd, 2009 More on:

In a recent video interview about the recently released Borderlands, Gearbox vice president Brian Martel said that while he thinks Borderlands is the best game they’ve made yet, the company is certainly not done with their WWII series Brothers In Arms, which got its long-awaited last entry, Brothers In Arms: Hell’s Highway, just last year.

“I think you can probably expect at some point there’ll be another Brothers in Arms game,” Martel told CBS 11 News. “You can probably expect that.. if you look at the history of where we’ve been, where we’re going.. so.. that’ll be in the future for sure.”

I’m not too familiar with the overall time line of the series but do know that Hell’s Highway took place in the later stages of the war. Could BiA follow the Call of Duty and Battlefield series into modern times?

Modern era would be cool. But with even Treyarch possibly ditching WWII, the fields seems to be left wide open for a solid WWII franchise. If no one puts out a quality WWII shooter in 2-3 years, the demand for them may come back.

not modern times hopefully. BiA: Hells Highway left off during operation market garden. it only seems typical to move on to the next major operation that the 101st airborne took part in which is the battle of the bulge (Dec ‘44 - Jan ‘45) in belgium. hopefully this is the direction they take, keeping the storyline of the game going and what not. could be amazing gameplay in the forests of the Ardennes forest, Bastogne etc….. LETS KEEP OUT FINGERS CROSSED. None of these games have flopped so this could be good!

really lookin forward to seeing Baker and the boys in Bastogne. Gearbox really needs to make that happen.

It has to continue on from Market Garden, it really would just ruin the flow if it went halfway through 101st operations in WWII, straightto modern war then back to WWII.
I don’t have a great knowledge of the Battle of the Buldge so I don’t know what to expect, only that BIA4 will be as superb as Hells Highway.

Back on the possibility of a Modern War BIA. I honestly thought what it would be like if it did happen. I reckon they could do a good job of it. However I reckon for it to be really good then they would have to base it on an actual battle in Modern Day war, Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq etc. Otherwise I believe it would be just another fictional modern war game.
