Just as quickly as it came, so it is gone. Major Nelson has firmly squashed the rumor, furthered by Steve Ballmer, that the Xbox 360 would have a Blu-ray drive as an accessory. On his blog, Nelson said that Ballmer was referring to “Blu-Ray accessories for the PC.”
He continues that Microsoft has said in the past that there are no plans for the Xbox 360 to have a Blu-ray anything, and then directs our attention to the fact that the console will soon have instant-on streaming 1080p movies, and that is where the future of home entertainment lies.

This kind of backs up what Michael Bay said. Remember he was bithing about Transformers not coming to blu-ray He claimed that Microsoft was only trying to slow down blu-ray so that they could offer HD digital videos. Instead of squashing the idea of a blu-ray player on xbox Major Nelson uses this opp to further advertise the streaming HD feature in the xbox 360.
