Ubisoft trademarks “Assassin”
BY Rangebar Merani Oct. 22nd, 2009 More on:

Ubisoft has trademarked the name “Assassin,” Dtoid has found, for all possible uses, be it in games, TV and/or film.

The trademark, signed off by CEO Yves Guillemot, was filed earlier this month on October 15, and partly reads, “Entertainment services namely providing an on-line computer game for others over global and local area computer networks and providing information on-line relating to computer games, video games and computer and video games related products; entertainment services namely television action series and the production of motion pictures.”

And that’s it. Take from this what you will. There could be tons of speculation as to what this could lead to, especially given Ubisoft’s recent interest in creating films. Then again, an Assassin’s Creed spin-off? Something completely and utterly different? Who knows.
